sounds like the board members are stuck in their ways and no one is going to tell them different, humans! Well back to WWJD
God has ways of working these things out, is your church family growing, is the Lord providing monetary support? If these things are not happening it is an obedience thing among the church as a whole. Prayer can get you thru this tough time, God will/is revealing what He wants so be loving and stand back and minister to your people and watch what god will do. hang in there God has your back!

Hi Rachel,
Good, solid advice on a difficult & sticky situation. I have just found myself in this spot as I am presenting a Christian Ed program to our church. The deacons & trustees have already attempted to censor & stall it. As an Associate minister, I find myself tossed in the middle of an aging pastor who truly wants to develop Christian Ed (his crowning achievement of his tenure) & a joint board who wants him to retire so they stall any efforts he makes to change or introduce nuances to our church. Neither side is bad (though both sides play politics to get along), yet the church is disastrously stagnant in both spiritual & numerical growth. Any advice?
