Lorelei Olivia Mote’s character, Alice, is a shoo-in for playing Mary in the pageant every year, until the part is forcefully commandeered by Imogene Herdman. Mote told moviegoers that “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” is “very different from the same old Christmas movies that you know. It’s really heartwarming, and you just really get to understand the true reading of Christmas.”
Sebastian Billingsley-Rodriguez plays Charlie, the son of Greer’s character in the film. Charlie is always getting picked on by the Herdmans at school and tells everyone at church the reason he loves Sunday school is because the Herdmans aren’t there. Everyone will “really enjoy” this movie, Billingsley-Rodriguez told ChurchLeaders, “because it’s funny, it’s heartwarming, and it’s got a lot of good messages, like, don’t judge a book by it’s cover, everyone deserves a second chance, and love your neighbor.”
“The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” is currently receiving a Rotten Tomatoes score of 100% from both critics and moviegoers.
