Setting a Precedent: Team President Jason Wright
Big changes are happening in the nation’s capital, where the “Washington Football Team” awaits a new mascot. In August, Jason Wright became the team’s first Black president. After a seven-year NFL career, Wright earned his MBA and now handles the team’s business operations.
Wright, who was active in the FCA, says he “would have come to a true and loving relationship with Christ quicker” if he had heard the gospel message from fellow Christian football NFL players. Pro athletes often “feel anxious” and have to put on “so many faces for so many people,” he says. “I tell people, ‘If you want that anxiety gone, if you want identity that’s real, if you’re sick of being tormented by what people think of you, Christ is it for you.’”
